Safari permits in Central India open online 120 days ahead (60 days for Maharashtra Pench). Peak dates sell out in minutes. Send us your dates and preferred zones — we'll book, confirm, and hold the permits in your name. Naturalist and jeep are arranged in-house.
Pench straddles two states. The Madhya Pradesh side has 3 core gates and 4 buffer gates. The Maharashtra side has 6 gates. Turia and Sillari are widely considered the best for tiger sightings. Pench Tiger Home sits right next to Turia — so we recommend and book that gate most often.
Permits go on sale 120 days ahead for MP and 60 days ahead for Maharashtra. All three core gates (MP) close for the afternoon shift every Wednesday.
The oldest and busiest safari zone. Mixed vegetation, Baginnalla waterhole, JodaMunara, and Kala Pahad. Best for first-time visitors. Our lodge is 100m from this gate.
Excellent tiger density with dense vegetation and multiple waterholes. Less crowded than Turia. Also entry point to Rukhad and Kumbhpani-Tekadi buffers.
Dense forest with barking deer, sloth bear, and wild dogs. Quieter zone — great for photographers who want fewer jeeps in frame.
Night safari available. Close to Turia, accessible after regular gate closure. Great for nocturnal wildlife.
Renowned for leopard, barking deer, chowsingha, and blue-bull antelope sightings.
Night safari zone. Direct access via NH-44. Consistent leopard sightings.
Adjoins Karmajhiri, offering night safari and dense mixed forest. Less-traveled option.
Widely rated among the top gates for tiger sightings anywhere in Pench. Books through the Maharashtra Forest Department portal.
Approx. 30 km from Turia. Popular for its dense sal cover and reliable leopard sightings.
Quieter Maharashtra option, good for birding and buffer wildlife.
Backwaters of the Totladoh reservoir. Boat safari available — a rare offering in this landscape.
Access to the western part of Maharashtra Pench. Fewer jeeps, wider trails.

Kanha inspired Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book and rescued the swamp deer (Barasingha) from extinction. It's the largest national park in Madhya Pradesh with a dense tiger population and towering sal forests.
The park runs 3 entry gates that give access to 4 core zones and 4 buffer zones. Mukki is widely rated as the best for tiger density and sightings.
The most popular and best-developed gate. Provides access to Kisli, Kanha, and Sarhi zones. Most lodges cluster around this side.
Access to the Mukki core zone — the highest tiger density in Kanha. Preferred by experienced travelers and photographers.
Access to Sarhi and Kanha zones. Fewer jeeps, uncrowded trails, and Saunf Meadow — the birthplace of Kanha's Barasingha recovery.
Open meadows and bamboo groves. Home to Shravan Taal. Accessible from all three gates.
Western Kanha with towering sal forests and grasslands. Accessed via Khatia gate. Excellent for forest-dwelling birds.
Southern Kanha. Highest tiger density, abundant water bodies, and the most interlinked road network. Rated the top zone in the park.
Dry deciduous forests and expansive meadows. Home to Saunf Meadow, the birthplace of the swamp deer recovery.
Great option for walk-in tourists when core zone permits are sold out. Surrounds Kisli.
Adjacent to Mukki. Night safari available. Rich in birdlife with dense forest cover.
Accessed from Sarhi. A quieter alternative when the popular zones are booked.
A satellite core reserve, rarely visited. Truly wild, small parties only.
With 165+ Royal Bengal Tigers according to Government of India statistics, Bandhavgarh has one of the highest tiger densities of any reserve in the world. Ancient fort, 10th-century Vishnu statue, and famous meadows like Chakradhara.
Three core zones (Tala, Magadhi, Khitauli) plus three buffers. Tala is designated a Premium zone with a higher entry fee to reduce crowd pressure on this ecologically vulnerable region.
The park's oldest and most scenic zone. Home to Bandhavgarh Fort, Shesh Shaiya (10th-century Vishnu statue), and Chakradhara meadow — filmed in Dynasties and The Hunt. Highest chances of tiger sightings.
The largest safari zone. Famous Charger Point is here. Excellent tiger sightings and less crowded than Tala. Longer routes, more time inside the forest.
The most peaceful of the three cores. Denser than Tala. Excellent birding, sloth bear and blue-bull sightings. Increasingly good for tiger sightings.
Extension of Magadhi zone. Entry between Mahaman and Parasi village. Features Mudgudi Dam and Sehimaada caves. Great for wildlife spotting.
Extension of Tala. Named after the Johila waterfall. Includes Kuthulia waterfall and Chindia ghaat — scenic terrain.
Extension of Khitauli. Known for nilgai, chinkara, four-horned antelope, and wild dog sightings. Bamboo and deciduous cover.
